A small cable company that stayed local

Plenty of small-town cable systems ended up inside national companies. This one didn’t. Quality Cablevision is owned by NPTech, the New Paris company that started out as New Paris Telephone, and it’s still run from New Paris by people who live in the towns it serves.

The TV lineup includes the South Bend broadcast stations, WNDU, WSBT and WNIT among them, plus the cable networks people actually call about, from ESPN and the Big Ten Network to HGTV and Hallmark. Subscribers can also sign in to watchTVeverywhere and stream some of those channels on a phone or tablet.

Billing moved over to NPTech’s SmartHub system, so a Quality Cablevision bill is paid the same way as any other NPTech bill: online, in the SmartHub app, or by calling the office.

How it fits with NPTech

Quality Cablevision covers the TV and cable side of the family. It shares an office, a billing team and a lot of history with the rest of NPTech, so one phone call usually sorts out a question that would bounce between departments somewhere bigger.

Where Community Fiber has built, customers who want faster internet can move to fiber without leaving the company that already sends them a bill. If you aren’t sure which of the two reaches your street, the office can tell you.
