New Paris Telephone Company, doing business as NPTech, is owned by shareholders — most of them families who live in the communities the company serves.
Locally owned
The company was founded in 1901 by residents of New Paris and has never been sold to an outside operator. Ownership has stayed in the area for 125 years, held by shareholders who live here and use the network their shares built.
Shares are not traded on a public exchange. The price is set annually by the board of directors and approved by shareholder vote at the annual meeting. The company handles ownership records, transfers, and shareholder communications directly from the New Paris office.
